I like all types of travel but some of my favorites have been the skiing and diving trips I have taken. Diving is such a wonder experience for me. I think it is so serene to glide through the warm waters seeing all the underwater species. I have seen a shark once and that was scary, I have to admit! Some of my favorite sightings have been spotted Eagle rays, Octopus changing colors, dolphins, small little reef shrimp and the colorful sea slugs. Some of my favorite dive destinations have been Bonaire, Grand Turks, Cayman Island and Hawaii. The South Pacific is a bucket list for me and I hope to find time to get there soon.
Skiing is another love for me. My ideal run is at the end of day, when the crowds has died down and I can go for that last long run down to the base hearing the wind and the carving of the snow. Of course it’s all about the apres-ski and jacuzzi after a long day on the slopes! Some of my favorite skiing spots are Whistler, Steamboat, Breckenridge, and Jackson Hole.
I have been fortunate enough to have gone on two safaris in South Africa and I wish that everyone could experience this once in their lifetime. It is hard to describe the awe of seeing these animals in their habitat and being a few feet away from these amazing animals. The roar of a lion is so loud it vibrates through you. Watching the sunrise with a leopard dragging his kill up a tree was the highlight for me. The scenery, colors and noises of the land was amazing. I have stayed at Mala Mala and Sabi Sabi private game reserves in Kruger National Park in South Africa and both are amazing, definitely luxury experiences. South Africa is an amazing country with something for everyone from the beautiful beaches in Cape Town & the Cape Peninsula, the wineries of Stellenbosch, the Garden Route, 20 different game reserves, and Sun City a mix between Vegas and Atlantis of the Bahamas. So much to see in this beautiful country makes it “my favorite trip” and I look forward to visiting again.
